Berlin – In the latest string of shocking American entertainer deaths, singer / songwriter Rick Astley has passed away at age 43. The singer, most famous for the chart-topping song “Never Gonna Give You Up”, was found unconscious and unresponsive by paramedics in a suite inside the Angleterre Hotel in Berlin.
Details are currently being withheld by both the hotel and Charité Hospital, who dispatched the paramedics to the scene, although it was reported that Astley looked “unwell” throughout the day by several staff members.

Beginning his career in the late 80's, Rick Astley burst into the public eye with his hit single "Never Gonna Give You Up", which, when released in 1987, became the year's highest-selling single. He continued making music that would touch millions for years to come, well into the 1990's. In 2007, 20 years after the single's original debut, it experienced a revival as the subject of an internet phenomenon, believed to have started on a popular internet image board. Now, three years after the fad that came to define his later years, the world is shocked at the sudden loss of a hero. His body was discovered at the Angleterre Hotel in Berlin Monday night after an emergency call placed from his room. Upon their arrival, paramedics were unable to revive him and he was pronounced dead on the scene. His death comes at a time of deep sorrow for the music world, with millions across the globe just barely coming to terms with the recent loss of superstar Michael Jackson. We may give him up today, but he has surely never let us down. Rest in peace, Rick.

Se desmiente la muerte de Rick Astley.

"Tras publicarse en diversos medios la noticia de la muerte del cantante británico Rick Astley, su manager, Tops Henderson, la desmiente. Asegura que el músico se encuentra en Copenhague preparando el concierto que ofrecerá el viernes en la capital danesa.

Hace una horas se informó desde CNN iReport del fallecimiento de Rick Astley. Se decía que Astley se encontraba hospedado en el Angleterre Hotel de Berlín, desde donde se llamó a los servicios de urgencia para atender al músico, que se encontraba inconsciente. Los sanitarios habían intentado reanimarlo, pero falleció a causa de un fallo cardíaco.

También ha circulado hoy la falsa noticia del fallecimiento de Britney Spears. En los últimos días, tras la muerte de Michael Jackson, se han difundido informaciones falsas en las que se aseguraba que celebridades como Harrison Ford, Jeff Goldblum, George Clooney o Natalie Portman habían muerto".


Así que, al día de hoy, tanto Rick Astley como éstos últimos, siguen vivos.
